Christmas Advent Calendar....or Not

Christmas....already??
I haven't even finished decorating for Thanksgiving but I couldn't wait to work on this......

For a printable tutorial go here!

I intended for this to be an advent calendar but I like it as a decoration too. This was so easy and quick! You'll need a corkboard, paint, 24 buttons, earring posts, hot glue and a marker.

First paint the corkboard. Add a cute tree...I free handed this tree (so easy)!

Attach earring posts to cute buttons with hot glue.

If you decide you want to make an advent calendar out of it, write numbers 1-24 on the board itself with a marker. Cover up the numbers with the buttons....1 a day. Your tree will be fully decorated complete with a star on Christmas Day.

Countdown the days 'till Christmas!

Get the kids involved...they love this!!

Great idea! Clever adding earring posts to turn the buttons into push pins! Thanks for linking up at the Catwalk :)

What a FANTASTIC idea. I've been trying to think how I was going to come up with something lovely, rather than kitchy.
I want to be able to teach my daughter about the countdown...not the expectancy of a gift every day...or worse..chocolate! That's reserved for mummy after 10!
Will definitely give this a try and report back!
Thanks for sharing.
